The Wedding of
Jack and Lucie
In the Old Village, Vilamoura
We had our special day at Casa do Largo, Old Village in Vilamoura on Monday 22nd July 2019 💜
Heather & Dave (& extended staff) at Casa do Largo restaurant, Wedding venue – I stumbled across this venue via a wedding forum over 16 months ago and after one look on their website we knew it was the one. We loved the fact the pagoda was a simple yet stunning set up and because it was family run, we knew we’d get the extra special personal touch (that sometimes hotels can lack). As suspected, this was spot on. As I work in events, I’m quite hot on admin and Heather did not disappoint with response times and didn’t seem fazed by my precise and long list of bullet point questions (thank you Heather ha ha). Our order of the day ended up being slightly delayed due to the bridal party getting ready and our ceremony also over ran. This gave Heather & co minimal time to set the tables up (also as I’m a maximalist when it comes to detail, I’d gone slightly overboard on centre piece items which must have applied even more pressure). However, somehow Heather & co pulled it round in time and the guests were none the wiser. Nothing was too much trouble and Dave even helped me and my drunken husband get in the taxi at the end of the night ready to go check in at our hotel on the marina.
In terms of accommodation, the night before a couple of the bridesmaids stayed in a Bougainvillea onsite within the Old Village complex (privately owned by Ann & Richard) – also recommended by Heather. It was a stone’s throw away from the wedding pergoda so in an ideal location. Sleeps up to 6 people so very spacious inside giving plenty of room for the whole bridal party, hairdresser, makeup artist etc. to roam around on the morning of the big day.
Leanne Turner, Cake – again, another recommendation by Heather (sister in laws). We chose raspberry/white choc for one tier and lemon for another. I liked the idea of pearls, gold foil and marble for décor. Leanne did a great job of making the cake look fancy as well as tasting delicious. I just wished I could have eaten more of it.
Good luck to all future brides – you are going to love it!!
