Terms and Conditions
Once you have confirmed your booking at Casa do Largo, the deposit to secure a date is a non-refundable deposit of €500. You will also be asked to sign our terms and conditions and booking form at this time.
After your booking is confirmed we advise you to contact Heather to discuss the planning of your wedding. If you plan to visit us at the venue please check before you book your flights that Heather is available on the dates you wish to visit, if you cannot visit your wedding can be planned by a combination of telephone and email, however in this instance we do advise that you arrive a few days before to finalise the details.
We will need to plan the timings of the day, and areas that you choose to be used for your wedding in addition to all the details involved in planning your wedding. As part of your wedding package, specific areas will be hired to you
Ceremony Package: the hire of the inside of the pagoda exclusively for your ceremony only times to be arranged (drinks and canopies available by prior arrangement) restaurant, terrace and exterior area open to the public
Intimate wedding Package: the hire of the pagoda exclusively until 5pm for your ceremony , wedding breakfast and cocktail hour, evening drinks available on our
sunset couch terrace.( small parties only) ( restaurant and terrace and exterior open to the public)
Daytime wedding Package : includes the hire of the pagoda exclusively until 5pm for your ceremony and wedding breakfast plus the exclusive hire of Florentina’s for your cocktail hour ( restaurant and terrace and exterior open to the public)
Full wedding package: includes the hire of the pagoda exclusively until 5pm for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, plus the hire of Florentina’s cocktail bar and terrace exclusively for the duration of your event available for your cocktail hour after the ceremony and later for your evening reception from 5pm ( restaurant and terrace and exterior area open to the public).
Any of the above by prior arrangement can arrange to have the exterior area closed for the ceremony, wedding breakfast or both cost depends on time of year, upgrading to this or one of the below packages is available until 5 days before your wedding.
Full wedding package with added daytime total exclusivity. Includes the hire of the pagoda exclusively until 5pm for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, the hire of the restaurant and front terrace exclusively until 5pm plus the hire of Florentina’s cocktail bar and terrace exclusively for the duration of your event including your cocktail hour after the ceremony and later for your evening reception from 5pm
Full wedding package with added total exclusivity of both venues. includes the hire of the pagoda exclusively until 10pm for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, first dance and evening reception, the hire of the restaurant and front terrace exclusively until 10pm plus the hire of Florentina’s cocktail bar and terrace exclusively for the duration of your event, including your cocktail hour after the ceremony and later for your evening reception from 10pm
Prices for our packages will be given to you before you book our venue.
Should you wish to bring in any outside suppliers, we must be notified of this.
The Venue at Casa do Largo has an approved supplier list of recommended and reputable companies and we can help you to contact and arrange their services.
Should you wish to use any other outside supplier, it is necessary for them to contact The Venue before the event if they need to visit this can be arranged by appointment only. The Venue will not be held responsible for any loss or damage caused by any outside supplier.
Details of third party suppliers we provide to you are intended to help you in arranging other services to be provided in connection with your wedding. If you do engage these or any other third party suppliers, we accept no responsibility for their performance of services and you should take up any complaints with them directly. You are also responsible for paying their charges directly. We reserve the right not to allow into the venue any third party suppliers who do not meet our requirements intended to ensure the safety and welfare of property and people at the venue.
When you make a booking we require an approximate number of guests and we ask you to keep us informed if this changes by more than 10 guests Final numbers need to be given one calendar month before your wedding.
Should your final numbers fall in the final month prior to your wedding, no refund will be given.
Final menu and beverage choices should be made no later than 2 months before your wedding although it is advisable to think about this and discuss your choices with us during planning.
You must advise us of any special dietary requirements or allergies when you confirm final numbers
It is your responsibility to advise us of any disabled guests and discuss with us their requirements to ensure our venue is suitable.
In our confirmation of booking letter we will provide you with an accommodation list to enable you to allocate and reserve accommodation for your guests. You will be responsible for booking your accommodation and we can only make recommendations.
The balance should be paid to us approximately one week before your wedding upon your arrival in Portugal This is payable in cash. Credit card is also available but there is a charge. With prior arrangement certain parts of the bill may be paid the following day.
If your wedding date is scheduled more than 1 year after the menus have been sent to you , the prices we issue are valid for 12 months after that we cap any increase for booked weddings or events at a maximum of 15% per year and only the items that have gone up apply
i.e. if a bottle of wine has gone up from 10 euros to 12 euros which is a 20 % increase you would only pay 15% more. These additional price increases only apply to food and drink items and our menus are available on our web site to ensure this is a genuine increase.
Should you wish to cancel your booking, please note that all deposits are non-refundable Cancellations can only be made in writing. You will also be liable for the following charges depending on when you make your cancellation.
Time of Cancellation:
More than 6 months loss of deposit.
6 months before the event: 10% of the bill based on a basic price of 30 euros per head or 500 € maximum
3 months before the event: 20% of the bill based on a basic price of 30 euros per head or 750 €maximum
1 to 3 months before the event: 30% of the bill based on a basic price of 30 euros per head or €1000 maximum
Less than 1 month before the event: 50% of the bill based on a basic price of 30 euros per head or €1500 maximum
If you wish to change the date of your wedding 6 months or more in advance we will endeavour to do so but this may have costs.
We reserve the right to cancel your booking in the event of any damage or destruction to the venue due to fire or any other cause beyond our control, which would prevent us from fulfilling our obligation in connection with your booking. If this unfortunate situation was to occur all deposits and payments would be returned.
We will not be held responsible for any consequential or third party losses.
We shall not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under our contract with you that is caused by events outside our reasonable control (such as serious damage to the venue, serious adverse weather conditions, a pandemic or epidemic, or interruption or failure of utility services such as electric power, gas or water). In these circumstances, we shall use every effort to notify you as soon as is reasonably practical. If, as a result of such events, we believe we have no alternative but to cancel your booking, we shall use reasonable endeavours to help you find an alternative venue of a similar standard for a similar price but our sole liability to you shall be to refund you any money you have paid towards your wedding package.
Insurance and Damages
We advise that you take out Independent Wedding Insurance at the time of your booking. You will be held responsible for any damage caused at your event, or any items removed from The Venue, either by yourselves or your guests.. Should any damage occur, or any items be found to be missing after your event, an appropriate amount will be charged.
Please note that we cannot take responsibility for possessions left at The Venue by yourselves or guests.
For any event any live music or DJ must finish at Midnight, The bar in Florentina’s can be open until 2am – we request guests after midnight are inside the bar and not on the terrace and we reserve the right to close if we feel clients are behaving inappropriately.
Unless we agree otherwise, only food and drinks supplied by us may be consumed at your wedding. Guests are totally forbidden to bring into our establishment drinks from their own accommodation or another bar, restaurant or supermarket, guests doing this will be asked to pay again for the items directly to us or in the case of refusal of this payment this cost will be charged to your bill and the client will be made aware of this. We can provide at your request a conduct leaflet given to all of your guests which includes this paragraph or we can leave it to you to explain this reasonable request to your guests.
We ask you to use your reasonable endeavours to ensure that your guests comply with, all of our reasonable instructions intended to ensure the safety of property and/or people at the venue.
We reserve the right to stop any activity which we reasonably believe is likely to cause damage to the interior or exterior of the venue or to risk the safety of people at the venue, and we will not tolerate any abusive behaviour by guests to any other guests or member of staff. We reserve the right to remove any persons acting inappropriately from the event.
If we have previously arranged for you to leave the venue by a specific time, then we would reasonably expect you and your guests to adhere to the time agreed. (for example, if we need to set up the restaurant for evening guests).
These terms shall be governed by Portuguese law and shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Portuguese courts.
Your contract is with us, Casa do Largo, and the operating company which is a wholly owned by Heather and David Turner.
